- Basic strength is the ability to lift/move weight while exercising at high intensity ranging from 80 to 90% of 1 repetition maximum.
Sports Periodization Specialist Certification – PROPTA-CSPS
Train Smarter. Progress Longer. Perform Better.
Periodization is the science of organizing training so the body adapts, improves, and stays healthy over time. This course teaches students how to properly structure training programs using proven periodization models instead of random workouts, social media trends, or copy-and-paste athlete routines.
This certification course is designed for personal trainers, coaches, and fitness professionals who want to move beyond basic programming and learn how to build safe, effective, long-term training plans for real people with real lives and for any athlete on any level.
Cadidates are required to study Periodization training for Sports by Tudor O Bompa,Phd / Michael C. Correra as a foundational reading. The Certification examination is independently developed and administered.

Periodization are designed exercises and techniques that promotes long-term performance improvements. Personal Trainers implement these techniques with variations of intensity, frequency, volume and pressure within certain training cycle.
-
- Using nonlinear and linear programming, modifying variables to optimize performance with overload training.
- Periodization is commonly applied and designed to prepare for competition, with performance peaking at the most competitive times in the season.
Periodization Cycles
-
- Macro- cycle training lasting 1 year to 4 years. Typically one competition season.
- Meso- cycle training lasting 2 to 4 weeks with specific programming goals and different meso-cycles to optimize performance.
- Micro- cycle training lasting 1 to 4 weeks, the shortest training cycle focusing on daily and weekly training.
